Lisa Carlisle at the Vampires vs Werewolves Blog Hop

I have been looking forward to this blog hop. Vampires vs werewolves? What a delicious topic!
For me, it’s vampires all the way–sexy, immortal, sensual beings. Count Dracula. Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderas as vampires in Interview with a Vampire. Hot! Stuart Townsend as Lestat in Queen of the Damned? Smoldering!
And I would definitely pick Edward over Jacob.
Who am I missing? Come on, vampire lovers, cast your vote!
There are many of you out there who would choose werewolf. So let me know why. Alcide from True Blood is smoking and I have a soft spot for Lupin in Harry Potter.
What would you pick–vampires or werewolves–and why? Who are some of the hottest characters? Your favorite books?
You could win a digital copy of Smoldering Nights, the first book in my Underground Encounters series with Ellora’s Cave. (Open to US and international readers.)

While you’re here, check out my newest release in the series, Fiery Nights!

  1. Though I love both, vamps are my favorite. I adore Xavier and Darian from DN Simmons KOTDC series.

    Thanks,

  2. I love vampires they are so sexy, My favorites are from the Dark Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon (any one of them will do 🙂 , Zsadist and Rhage from BDB from J.R. Ward, Eric from True Blood (sookie stackhouse series) Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter …… my list could go on and on.

  3. I love Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changling series, Hawke is alpha of the wolf shifters AND Gerard Butler as Dracula.

  4. I prefer vamps but love werewolves too 🙂
For vampires: Kresley Cole’s Lothaire, Charlaine Harris’s Eric, Jeaniene Frost’s Bones, Vlad, & Ian, JR Ward’s BDB men, & Sherrilyn Kenyon’s DH men 🙂
For werewolves: Kresley Cole’s Lykae pack (especially Bowen), Charlaine Harris’s Alcide & Sherrilyn Kenyon’s weres 🙂
    Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  5. I have to say, vampires all the way! LOL 🙂 I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Antonio Banderas as Armand but can’t leave out Tom and Brad who were also yummy! Keifer Sutherland made a bad ass vampire in Lost Boys. Stuart Townsend made a sexy companion to the already sexy Aalyiah in Queen of the Damned (my fav movie)! I liked Eric Notham but only with his long hair. Once he cut those locks off, that was it for me. Salma Hayek made a creepy yet sexy vampire in From Dusk Til Dawn. I’ve always fantacized about Christine Feehan’s erotic vampires. Especially the ones in her ‘dark’ series (Dark Prince, Dark Magic, etc). I’ll have to check out the Sherrilyn Kenyon books too. Sound interesting! Go Vamps!

    1. Yay, another Vamps vote!
Yes, Kiefer is great in Lost Boys. And the guy who plays Michael in it is sexy.
I like Eric better with short hair, even though I like long hair. Weird.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  6. I love to read erotic romances. It’s almost all I read. And while I do like the smokin vamps, I am Team Werewolf. Here’s why.. I love a loyal sexy man. Who cares if he sheds now and then? And the growling… that really floats my boat. 😀 Weres are strong, loyal, sexy, protective, sexy, caring, sexy, charming, and sexy. 🙂

Now as to books I would recommend… the “Leashed” series by Jet Mykles, the “Pack/Pride” series by Shelly Laurenston, the “Dragon Kin” series by G. A. Aiken, the “Freakn” series by Eve Langlais, the “Anita Blake” series by Laurel K. Hamilton, the “Breeds” series by Lora Leigh, and the “Granite Lake Wolves” series by Vivian Arend. If you haven’t tried them you are missing out. Thanks for the chance to win. reneebennett35 (at) yahoo (dot) com

  7. Vampires all the way!

I have three vamps to add—I LOVED Gary Oldman as Dracula, Gerard Butler in Dracula 2000 (even though the movie itself left something to be desired), and Alex O’Loughlin in the TV show Moonlight.

I could suggest vamp fiction that a lot of people have already read, but I’ll suggest the Vampire Empire trilogy by Clay and Susan Griffith. It’s a very well-written romance set against a futuristic steampunk background (don’t expect any steamy scenes, though). Gareth is not only a hot vampire, but the things he does for Adele are just adorable!

    1. Gary Oldman is fantastic as Dracula! He’s fantastic in anything. 🙂
I’ll check out the trilogy you recommended. Thanks.

  8. I love both creatures but tend to be drawn to vamps more. I absolutely LOVE JR Ward’s BDB and Qhuinn makes me weak with his sexy yet sensitive self!

  9. Im new to this genre. I would have to say werewolves. I cant wait to read these books. They sound so good to read.

    1. That pack interaction and silent communication is pretty cool.
I also like the idea of an isolated vampire. Very alluring.
Thanks for commenting and good luck!

  10. I read both types of books, if it is a good story, then it’s a good story and I’m happy. However, I am drawn to that bad boy, with the rugged good looks. So, weres typically fall into that category.

However, if you’re looking for those rugged vamps, check out The Shadow Wranglers series by Sarah McCarty. The vamps are also friends with some equally rugged weres.

My current favorite vamp: Az from Death’s Angel by Heather Killough-Walden
My current favorite were: I narrowed this down earlier and now I’ve forgotten LOL. Let’s go with Jolene from Molly Harper’s Jane Jamison series. She’s a hoot!

    Thanks for the stop.

  11. I hate to choose I really do, but thanks to the mouth-watering Eric Northman I am Team Vampire!! Although, I wouldn’t kick a hot sexy alpha wolf outta my bed for eating crackers if you know what I mean 😉 😉
    Thanks for the great giveaway!!

  12. I am team werewolf but I am not completely opposed to vampires. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  13. I honestly love them both! Their portrayed differently in every series or book so I may hate one in this story but turn around and love them in the next. Thanks for the giveaway!
