Happy July 1st!

Welcome to July! It seems like May through June was a whirlwind of travel and conferences. I am so looking forward to July where I’ll be consumed by starting yet another project during Camp Nanowrimo–while finishing up several others!

So here’s a quick recap of conferences. NEC-RWA book signingIn late April, I attended the New England Conference of Romance Writers of America. After soaking in great info at the panels, I signed copies of Rock Me Tonight and Night Encounters at the book fair. Here I am with the lovely Loretta Chase.

In late May, I visited New York for Book Expo America to be one of Ellora’s Cave’s authors signing at its booth. I’d take almost any reason to visit NY, being surrounded by books, authors, and publishers makes it a book lovers dream. After checking in, my author pal Heather Elizabeth King and I walked around Times Square and checked out a cover band. The next day we were in full BEA mode. After checking out as many booths as we could before our signing, we met up with fellow author Kerry Adrienne, EC staff, and cavemen at the EC booth. The next several hours flew by. We signed book cover flats, and had fun chatting in between. We talked with librarians, authors, book store owners, and readers, who stopped by. And then we hit the many rows and rows of booths. I found an advance copy of an R.L. Stine book for my youngest sister, who was a huge fan growing up.

iPhone 2014 139Late that afternoon, I met up with Heather and her friends later at Ellen Stardust. I never heard of it before, but was blown away by the great atmosphere. The servers each took turns singing Broadway songs or modern hits and some of them were amazing. I can’t remember what I ate, but I ate every last bite so it was good! Later that night, we met up with some of my friends at a bar downtown and finished the night dancing.

While waiting in line in NY, I checked my email and was thrilled to read one from Night Owl Reviews. They reviewed Bloodlust and Metal, part of my Underground Encounters series with Ellora’s Cave. Made my day! Here are some snippets:

“Heavy Metal, vampires and shifters make a great combination in this mesmerizing paranormal romance.”

“The attraction between Devon and Layla radiates from every page and no matter how much they fight it the sex scenes are red hot and scorch the reader with their fiery passion.”

“The relationship between the two keeps things real interesting and the danger, passion and action heats things up even more and the drama with the band adds a little more spice to the story as well.”

Here’s more on Bloodlust and Metal.

Bloodlust and Metal

bloodlustandmetal_msrFourth in the Underground Encounters series. On the run from a master vampire, young vampire Layla Black flees London to reinvent herself as the singer of an Eighties cover band in Boston. Devon St. Clair is the bounty hunter hired to track her down. As a shapeshifter with extraordinary skills, his reputation is known throughout the supernatural world. Capturing Layla should be an easy gig that will net a nice profit. The situation doesn’t go as Devon plans. He wants Layla in his bed, but shapeshifters and vampires don’t mix. They should hate each other, but instead they’re keeping the sheets steamy. When circumstances force them on the run together, their preconceived notions are challenged. If they can evade those hunting them and convince his fellow shapeshifters to help her even though she’s a vampire, they just might have a chance to explore where all that hot, sweaty sex can take them.
