When writing Darkness Rising, I drew on many things that fascinate me in Paris, a city I was lucky enough to live in for a short time. I’m fascinated by gargoyles–they abound in my garden and study–so I could spend hours at Notre Dame.
Here are some photos from my last visit to Notre Dame. My family had to drag me away!
Is there any wonder that Antoine originates from a gargoyle clan in Paris? And he’s a sculptor learning from the renowned artist Rodin. One of my favorite museums is the Rodin Museum in Paris–another place I could spend hours in. If you have a chance to visit Paris, you should definitely think about visiting. 😉
Writing this post is making me wistful for Paris. I think I need to book a return trip soon!
More pics and posts of my gargoyle obsession to come. Any suggestions on where I should travel next?
Beautiful pics!!! I love gargoyles as well!!
Thanks, Angie! I’m working on another post this week with my photos of gargoyles at Princeton. 🙂
I have been on holiday in France, too, this year. I have similar pictures taken from the cathedral in Carcassonne, that’s always a good place to visit!
Cool! I would go back every year if I could. 😀
I would love to see those up close and personal. They have such elegance and strength. Thanks for sharing with us.
Awesome pics. I to love gargoyles and vampires.
